Today, it’s all about – Claymore Warfare: Rapid Hide & Seek with an Explosive Twist from @clairejeepchick…

Some of my fondest memories playing Call of Duty have been made in Custom Matches, including my personal favorite: Claymore Warfare. I have played variants of this game mode for years and it works great with the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 custom game settings.

Claymore Warfare is Hide & Seek with Traps. One minute to hide. Four minutes to find. One minute of mad dashes to the neutral zone. To win your team has to eliminate the entire opposing team, or have more players in the neutral zone when time expires. I particularly like this custom game mode because it relies heavily on map knowledge and claymore placement. Using the maps’ less traveled areas, you will find all sorts of great spots to hide-in-plain-sight and find alternate routes in and out of buildings.

The HIDE Team is set up with a Claymore, a sniper rifle, and Cold Blooded. They have one minute from the start of the match to drop their Clay and hide. Once they’ve had a chance to hide, they cannot move until the final minute of the game. The HUNT Team is set up with a knife, lightweight/marathon, dead silence. They have four minutes to find the HIDE team, while avoiding claymores, and knife them out of the game. The last minute of the game both teams can kill each other freely (knives only) while rushing to the neutral zone (HUNT spawn). I like to go old school and yell ‘OLLIE OLLIE OXEN FREE’ while dolphin diving into the safe area.

Black Ops 2 has a wide array of options for custom game modes. I particularly like that I can go ahead and set up classes for each team with the right weapons, perks, equipment and restrictions. Slap hardcore mode on it for an extra challenge.

Claymore Warfare:

Team HUNT:
No Weapons (Default Knife Only)
Perk 1: Lightweight
Perk 2: Cold Blooded
Perk 3: Extreme Conditioning

Team HIDE:
Primary: Sniper (to equip character with low profile ghillie suit)
Perk 1: Lightweight
Perk 2: Cold Blooded
Perk 3: Dead Silence
Lethal: Claymore

UAV Off – 6 minute rounds (one minute to hide, four minutes to find, one minute dash to safe zone)
