Ce Atl Tonalli is a traditional Aztec Dance group. We have been dancing in the Northwest since 2004. We have been organizing ceremonies, Danza presentations, historical and cultural workshops, artistic projects and community engagement. Members travel to Mexico to maintain our connection to the land, continue learning our language and traditions and to participate in ceremonies. We also bring teachers from Mexico here to Seattle to continue the legacy of sharing teachings and culture with our brothers and sisters of the north. Our group hosts the Yankuik Xihuitl/Mexica New year ceremony each year in March. We believe that we have the power to change ourselves and come together collectively to empower our community for self-determination through our rich history and traditions. We are the dreams of our ancestors....

Ce Atl Tonalli es un grupo de Danza Azteca-Chichimeca que tiene la guianza del General Manuel Rodriguez-Gonzalez de la mesa central de Queretaro. Participamos en diversas actividades como en presentaciones de danza, talleres de arte, historia y cultura. Tenemos como responsabilidad del grupo la ceremonia del Yankuik Xihuitl (Año Nuevo). Practicamos la ceremonia de temazcal entre otras. Tambien hacemos intercambios de cultura con la gente indigena de los EU. Tambien viajamos a Mexiko para recibir aprendisaje directamente de la tierra sagrada y nuestros mayores. El proposito del grupo es mantener la tradicion viva, realizar los sueños de los abuelos y despertar la consciencia de la humanidad. Al fin...solo llevaremos flores y cantos de esperanza...
