Why do you think LGBTQIA+ inclusion is important to health research? LGBTQIA+ inclusion in health research is crucial for several reasons:

1. Addressing Health Disparities: LGBTQIA+ individuals often face unique health disparities, including higher rates of certain medical conditions, mental health challenges, and barriers to accessing healthcare. Inclusive research allows for a better understanding of these disparities and the development of targeted interventions to address them.

2. Improving Healthcare Access and Quality: By including LGBTQIA+ perspectives in health research, healthcare providers can better understand the diverse needs and experiences of these communities. This can lead to improved healthcare access, more culturally competent care, and better health outcomes for LGBTQIA+ individuals.

About The PRIDE Study

The PRIDE Study is the first longitudinal health study of people who identify as a sexual or gender minority.

The PRIDE Study will include (i) a longitudinal study of all participants with an electronic survey every 1-3 years, and (ii) multiple studies, some of which only a subset of participants (e.g., certain age groups, geographic locations) may be eligible.
