Texans,
As everyone gets worked up over what the federal government may or may not do about guns, please keep in mind that, barring removing themselves from the issue completely, nothing they do will be legal - nothing.
And regardless what a few modern progressive Harvard and Yale lawyers in robes have said to the contrary, the Constitution of the United States offers the federal government no authority whatsoever to be involved in an individual's right to bear arms.
Stand on that fact - No matter the odds - Stand on it.

Secession is not a bad option, people. In all seriousness, it’s probably the best option. We are too large, the Constitution has been dead for a long time, and there is far too much power held by just a few people. Maybe it’s time to have an adult conversation about divesting power and leaving each other alone.
