Sesame Street should be teaching kids HOW to think. Not WHAT to think.

Wow. Now I have to make sure sesame Street is appropriate so my son isn't confused about how he should dress.

I'm glad he found a reason to wear that fabulous dress second time!

I don’t know who this is, but I’m glad to see. So happy my children are growing up in a world that is more accepting of people as they are, not who we want them to be.
It’s a relief to know my girls will grow up to know that all colors, races, genders, identities, are normal and beautiful. Thanks, Sesame Street!

As a child in the 80s I would have looked at my Mom and asked if she could make that for me. 🤩😍

I think he’s fabulous and rocks whatever he’s wearing. But, this is a little too extra for Sesame Street IMO. SS will always have a down to earth vibe for me. This look doesn’t scream “guy next door.”

This is NOT okay! Not his appearance on Sesame Street..I think that’s awesome. But the fact that Billy Porter is ROCKING that outfit better than I ever could even on my very best day...UGH! I’m Oscar the Grouch green with envy!

Way to go Sesame Street. All I see here is diversity, acceptance, confidence, beauty, and love.

I personally think he's WAY over- dressed for Sesame Street. 🤷‍♀️ Seriously. A sensible denim skirt would have been a much better choice. 🤪

He is such a handsome, confident, successful man who knows who he is, what he wants, & how to go out & get it! I can only hope my children look up to this fantastic role model & take all the wonderful lessons in.

I never realized this was the answer before. That dress on that person on those steps is it!. Every child should know the feeling of power and ferocity that i feel and that it is plain to see that Billy feels when we put on a gown like that. And they will see him with that power and ferocity and no fear and they can learn it too from that person in their neighborhood.
