funny how everyone dances to the prospect of fiber to their home. good thing the 500 miles of copper feeding that fiber makes little to no impact.

Actually, fiber makes a great impact, the problem is the companies don't assemble the infrastructure correctly and the performance disappears drastically. Fiber optics are glass and light. Travels further and faster than electricity over copper wire and carries much more information at a time. The boxes, or stations they connect to are piss poor. By the time it hits your home, it's slow again.

As far as 5g... until unlimited Internet is standard. I don't care. Nobody... NOBODY... actually gives unlimited. It stops at a certain point and you get throttled down as non priority.

Agree, Randy, but 6 Sigma mentality blocking. Shanghai reminded us of NYC. Alive, exciting and work ethic we observed was unbelievable. With the right equipment they would perform miracles in lightening speed. Transition, tho' would be tough. If we could all finally get our act together think of the exciting possibilities. Pulling an all nighter---how about you? Are you still in banking?

I remember when they said high speed WiFi repeaters would be on every corner in Seattle. How is that working out? Haven't heard much about it lately..

5G sounds like the next greatest innovation. This is what is going to happen....yes, you can download videos and music lightning fast....you will also download virus's lightning fast. Advertisers from Facebook or news links will also install triple the advertising....so you will burn through data considerably faster

Carriers can use millimeter wave, or the spectrum they already own, but using it you won't get he desired bandwidth.

Fiber to the Home is important as well for home connections. 5G is a nice complimentary technology, though.
