The Participatory Budgeting Project is a non-profit organization that provides support to elected officials, public agencies, and community groups for developing participatory budgeting (PB) processes in the US and Canada.
PB is a democratic process in which community members directly decide how to spend part of a public budget. It gives ordinary people real power to make real decisions about real money. Over 1,500 cities, states, counties, schools, universities, housing authorities, and community organizations around the world use PB to decide budget investments and priorities.
