Our undergraduate program — the largest in the College of Arts and Sciences — provides both majors and non-majors a strong foundation in general biology and emphasizes the excitement of discovery and the development of individual creativity and critical reasoning skills.
Graduate students learn diverse scientific approaches for studying the natural world, for recognizing new relationships and patterns, and for defining new questions and areas of scientific inquiry. Students at all levels are attracted to our very flexible programs of study and the integration of faculty research into the curriculum.
The Division of Biological Sciences is comprised of 40 active research and teaching faculty with a sizeable contingent of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows housed in three buildings: Tucker Hall, Lafevre Hall, and the Life Sciences Center.
