Laura's whole working life has been about helping people, especially when they're at their most vulnerable.
Laura has had an extensive career in law prior to her election as the Member for Currumbin. Laura worked as a solicitor in private practice, as a Federal Prosecutor, where she prosecuted child exploitation, people smuggling and drug import/export cases and as a disciplinary prosecutor.
Now, Laura is using her voice to stand up for you and the place her family proudly calls home, as the Member for Currumbin in the Queensland Parliament.
Queensland is a state of opportunity. Laura thinks it is time Queensland had more ambition and boldness. It is not good enough for Queensland to have the highest unemployment in the country. It is not good enough that it can take hours to get from one end of the Coast to the other. It is not good enough that waiting lists are blowing out.
Laura wants to give back to her community, using her experiences to be a strong voice for locals.
