About LUXE Paws
Luxe Paws is an all volunteer street rescue effort laser-focused on spay/neuter, TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) & rescue for the homeless kittens.
Our ultimate goal is to inspire a neighborhood-based spay/neuter support model which, if replicated across LA, would PREVENT unwanted animals suffering on the street OR being euthanized at our city shelter.
Why?
Our shelters are underfunded, overcrowded & homeless animals will continue to fill the shelters if we don't make spay/neuter the #1 priority for every cat in LA. Many heroic rescue organizations are rescuing animals from shelters, but adoption alone won't decrease the number of unwanted animals.
Fact: One female cat & her offspring can produce up to 24 cats in just 12 months.
Why?
There simply aren't enough adopters for all the animals born on the street every year & access to free or low cost spay/neuter for homeless cats is non existent in all but a handful of LA zip codes.
What?
Our volunteers team up with our neighbors in Los Feliz, Silver Lake and Echo Park to rescue the youngest kittens and find them a forever home and FIX the adult cats to stop the flood of unwanted animals.
We do not have a facility, we are not a shelter, we utilize volunteer fosters to care for the youngest we rescue until they find a forever home.
Help Us! We're always looking for people to help us get the word out about TNR & spay/neuter BEFORE the kittens come. We always need neighborhood fosters for the kittens we rescue & adopters to give them a forever home.
Email info@luxepaws.org to help!
* PLEASE note: Luxe Paws is NOT a 501c(3) rescue organization and your donations to our grassroots rescue effort are NOT tax deductible. We’re able to help the most needy animals thanks to private donations, generous friends, family, neighborhood businesses, individuals - and 75% out of our own paychecks.
Our primary focus is Trap/Neuter/Return, as it offers the most direct impact on the number of animals in harms way.
We’re very limited in both funding to pay for medical care, food, litter, sanitary supplies, and space to house animals - we rely 100% on neighborhood fosters. We are not a shelter, we do not have a facility, and all our volunteers are part time, and must hold down full time jobs. We’re able to take in and provide for only a limited number of animals, so if you’re asking for our help, ask yourself how you can contribute in some way to saving a life.
