Today at the Kennan Institute, we are thinking about the 25th anniversary of the August, 1991 coup d'etat attempt in Moscow. We'd like to hear your thoughts on the legacy of the attempted coup by Soviet hardliners, the dissolution of the Soviet Union a few months later and the legacy of this event in modern Russia.
What has changed? What hasn't? Is there something we can learn from August 19th, 1991 that is relevant to August 19th, 2016?
We'd love to hear from you! Please leave your comments below and join the discussion.
