IUPAB (International Union of Pure and Applied Biophysics), is the meeting point for researchers in the frontier line of applying physical methodologies to biological systems.
IUPAB, a member of ISC (International Science Council), is constituted by Adhering Bodies most of them Scientific Societies or Scientific Federations from 61 countries in all continents, attaining a very high number of active biophysicists.
The main event is the IUPAB congress every three years, and after the recent one at Brazil (online 2021), the next ones being at Kyoto (2014) and Berlin (2017). Between congresses, IUPAB sponsors Focused Meetings (next ones at Ottawa and Hyderabad), as well as courses.
At present IUPAB Council members are involved in the following Task Forces and Committees: Education and Capacity Building, Structural Biology, Big Data in Biophysics, Social Networks and Scientific Dissemination, Meetings, and Publications.
Also, IUPAB pays a special attention to activities and courses in developing nations.
