In the summer of 1989, in a quiet corner of Glan Gwili hospital, a farmer's wife gives birth to a baby girl named Buddug James Jones. In this moment she became heir to the families three hundred year old farming dynasty.
22 years later, and Bud is restless. Desperate to leave the James Jones historic home - Blaengwyddon Fawr - she wrestles with the knowledge that her departure will sound the death knell for the family business. Leaving generations of James Jones tradition behind her as she sets out alone into the big smoke...
With live music, welsh cakes and a ‘twmpath’ (Welsh ‘Ceilidh), ‘Hiraeth’ explores the decline of Welsh tradition and identity through the story of one woman’s struggle to escape and let go.
'Hiraeth' is created by Jesse Briton, Buddug James Jones and Max Mackintosh.
The show is English language with a bit of Welsh.
