Über Fort de Chartres French Marines
The French Marines of Fort de Chartres portray the French military presence in the Illinois Territory in the early to mid 1700's. This group participate in many local living history events
throughout the year. The Marines welcome individuals as well as families to our group. As well as educating the public, we are educating ourselves! We are a family oriented group so all ages are accepted.
The Fort De Chartres French Marines also has a woman's group devoted to portraying the lives of 18th century French women. These ladies enjoy camp life and assist the Marines in their daily duties.
If you have a love of history, please consider joining us in preserving and retelling the
