Our nation owes a huge debt of gratitude to Senator Patty Murray for showing the value of bipartisanship.

The need to stabilize health insurance markets under the Affordable Care Act is undisputable. Sen. Murray’s deal with Sen. Alexander means working families with low and middle incomes will continue to have access to insurance that’s affordable.

The ACA has been successful in King County and Washington state, and we should be strengthening what works. I hope that the rest of the Senate and House follow in their example and do what is clearly in the best interest of the American people.

You mean President Trump... patty Murray helped start this garbage, and is being forced to correct it without bailouts for the insurance companies... don't spin things to your ideology, this is from Trump, not murray.

"The need to stabilize health INSURANCE markets... is undisputable". Actually it's very disputable. Nobody should need insurance for routine healthcare. Insurance is not the problem. The cost of healthCARE is the problem, and forcing people to buy insurance only allows healthCARE costs to be further hidden from the consumers. Getting people insurance does nothing but increase the profit for both insurance companies and healthcare/drug companies.

Other than expanding Medicaid, how is the ACA affordable? Funny how you never hear any numbers about how many people are purchasing health insurance that didn't purchase it prior to the ACA (most self employed people already were purchasing their own). 😡☹️

May I respectfully ask how ACA has been successful in King County ? I know several people who flat can't afford to see a Dr. because of they can't afford the deductibles. In fact, just 2 weeks ago a woman I know was sick but didn't go to the Dr. because she couldn't afford to . She wasn't getting better so last week her daughter took her to an urgent care in Auburn and she has a serious pneumonia . I also know personally 3 couples who lost their insurance because the ins. dropped out of obamacare......Another was sick but couldn't get in to see a Dr. for 2 weeks. She ended up having shingles and was really miserable for 2 wks without treatment. Maybe these are exceptions but they happened in Auburn, and Maple Valley. Another one in Renton couldn't find a Dr. who would accept her ins. but they were on the list that she was given.

The ACA has been very successful in King County; the rate of uninsured individuals has dropped significantly, and Public Health - Seattle & King County is always working to find new and better ways to ensure people receive care.

The Mall of Africa is a space in SeaTac where immigrants and refugees from the African community can run their businesses and gather together. It just opened on February 26th and King County TV was there for the big occasion.

See what this new space promises for the region:

As of this week, more than 650,000 doses have been administered to King County residents. And 22% of residents have received at least one dose.

Community partners, like Lumen Field, City of Seattle Government, and Swedish Medical Center have been (and will continue to be) instrumental in ensuring every adult resident gets vaccinated as quickly and equitably as possible.

Since there is no booking information or link on this post by Dow Constantine, please visit our volunteer site covidwa.com to find available appointments in Washington State. We are an all-volunteer run website that aggregates available vaccine appointments. I continue to see posts like this from Dow Constantine with no links to actually BOOKING an appointment. I am fairly tech-savvy, and find this frustrating. Is it just me? Mr. Constantine, please feel free to contact me at info@covidwa.com. We are providing our data to the DOH as of this week to help people find availability. Why are links to booking an appointment not being provided in these posts? People are struggling to book an appointment, struggling to not get sick, struggling to not die, struggling to have a living wage, and not just read statistics or advertising for Lumen Field. I am a proud Washingtonian and was laid off in September. I am fortunate to have connected with a group of tech savvy people here in Washington (and beyond) to create this service. I ask that future posts on Covid-19 Vaccines not include adverting for Lumen Field, but useful links for the public to actually book an appointment, or find out when they're eligible.

A year ago the COVID outbreak in America started in King County. But today, after all your sacrifice and vigilant mask wearing, we have one of the lowest case rates in the country. Your efforts quite literally saved lives.

Seattle’s Virus Success Shows What Could Have Been

The Seattle area once had more coronavirus deaths than anywhere else in the United States. A year later, the region’s deaths per capita are lower than any other large metropolitan area.

This is also a key point: we did better than the rest of the state. "Other parts of Washington State had more trouble. In the more rural areas east of the Cascades, the virus spread among farmworkers, pushing Yakima County’s death rate to more than double that of King County, which includes Seattle, although Yakima County’s numbers were about on par with death rates seen in many other states."

“Researchers said Seattle also profited from its network of research and philanthropic organizations focused on global health, politicians willing to listen to them, businesses that emptied their offices early and residents who repeatedly indicated a willingness to upend their lives to save others. Even as the year wore on, and the region’s case numbers were among the lowest in the nation, a survey found that Washington residents were still the most likely to stay home for Thanksgiving.”

Great. Mask wearing helps curb the spread... but, why this post... ultimately people want to know when and how they can get a vaccine, so maybe END your post with that information:
