It’s likely you’ve heard that the 2012 Week Ride sold out very quickly last night after our Kickoff Party and route announcement. We are overwhelmed by the interest in this year’s 25th Anniversary ride, and truly grateful for the continuing support of our Cycle Oregon family of riders. If you weren’t able to register this year, we’re sincerely sorry – we wish we could take every rider who wants to join us, but we’re limited by the available space and infrastructure in those great small towns we love to visit. If you’ve tried to contact us about your registration, please be patient – we’ve had many, many inquiries since the announcement last night, and we’re working to answer every one of them. If you weren’t able to register for the Week Ride, we really encourage you to join us for the Weekend Ride. It has the same great atmosphere as the Week Ride, and routes for riders of all abilities. It’s a great way to get your Cycle O fix for 2012, and then hopefully join us on the Week Ride for 2013. As always, thanks for your part in making Cycle Oregon successful!
When Cycle Oregon rolls through town with thousands of people, bikes and everything that goes with it, the casual observer may just see the organized commotion of the bike event. But look a little closer and you’ll see prosperity and community riding into these rural Oregon towns. These cyclists aren’t just passing through – they are connecting with the local community, spending money in local establishments, and making plans to return.
Since the very beginning, Cycle Oregon has been giving back to the Oregon communities that have given so much to us. Over the past 32 years, grants from the Cycle Oregon Fund have gone to preserve historic buildings, to protect natural resources, to create needed community programs, and have helped make Oregon even more bike friendly than it already is.
The Cycle Oregon experience sometimes lives on in a physical form, as it does here at Embers Brew House Restaurant and Pub in Joseph, Oregon with a functional CO bike rack (Classic XXXI) featured prominently out front. Ride with us, eat and drink with them!

Throwing it back to Cycle Oregon Classic XXIX, September 10-17, 2016 / Day 3 / Bandon to Gold Beach
We began in view of the stunning ocean rock formations of Bandon and took to the Oregon Coast Bike Route with rolling views of the Pacific, cranberry bogs, and coastal forests. At the halfway point is Port Orford, the westernmost incorporated place in the 48 contiguous states. While many hills may leave you to wonder what is just over the top, Oregon Street makes it crystal clear what you can expect at the intersection with 5th Street just above. And what a view it is!
