Earlier this week I was on a Zoom call bombed by hundreds of profane and racist comments. Needless to say, I’m new to navigating these platforms’ privacy and security features too. We’ve been in contact with Zoom to address this and other key privacy and security issues.
As we all move to working and socializing at a distance, we are increasingly relying on technology to communicate. Video conferencing has become extremely popular. Learning how to use these platforms ‘on the fly’ is no small challenge, but it is important to take the time to learn how to use them securely and safely.
On Zoom or anywhere, hateful and racist speech is not OK. Not now, not ever. Our world is confronting an unprecedented threat. There are trolls seeking to exploit our fear and divide us. Don’t let them. Together, with love, compassion and courage, we will get through this.
Connecticut residents cannot afford to hand over these checks to scammers.
Stay alert for bad actors and be wary of any text message, email, or phone call from someone claiming to be from the federal government. If you think you may have been contacted by a scammer, hang up the phone and don’t click that link. If you aren’t sure, turn to official sources to verify or contact our offices for assistance.

As the second round of stimulus payments hit bank accounts, DCP and Attorney General William Tong are reminding the public that scammers won't be far behind. Here are some tips to make sure you aren't taken advantage of.

3. Resignation
