As we can see, Solar Mama Yumina is eager to work with solar panels. She is a sharp and witty Indonesian resident, with a face that beams of kindness and confidence. The language barrier has not stopped her from working diligently, or compromised her good sense of humour- Mamas are often heard laughing with her at her jokes. Yumina is friends with Mamas from all of the countries present, and has loved sharing time and experiences with each of them. Life in Indonesia is not always easy, where Yumina is a hard-working rural farmer who tries to support her family in a modest house. Between tears, she tells us that everything she does is for her children. She aspires to pay for their schooling through the money she will earn as a Solar Engineer after her training. When Barefoot College asked Yumina to come to India and receive Solar Training, she saw it as a chance given to her by God, leading her here. Upon returning home, Yumina's dreams extend beyond Solar Engineering- her goals now include starting a community women's group with gardening, cooking and improving living conditions, and making herself a savings bank account in her village. #SolarMama #Indonesia #BarefootCollege
