Yohana is one of our current Solar Mamas- a diligent village farmer coming to us from Koa, Indonesia. Four years ago, Yohana, mother of seven, was forced to become both housewife and provider for her family due to her husband's sudden stroke. Despite all of the hard work she was depended upon at home, Yohana's family is very supportive of her being here. They believe that when she returns, their lives and the lives of their community will greatly improve, as the solar panels she'll be able to build and install will for the first time provide a reliable source of light. Solar Training was initially difficult for Yohana, but her hard work ethic accompanied her to India, and she is now a great student regardless of the language barrier. She's eager to bring new skills she's learned back to her village, and be respected by local residents. Her village, in which there is presently no electricity source, is situated between two rivers. During the rainy season, the rivers flood and the village becomes a stranded island. The anticipation of sustainable Solar Powered light for such a precarious location makes Yohana's journey truly invaluable. #SolarMama #Indonesia
