Yesterday was the unveiling of Komitas Vartabed’s monument in Montreal. The father of Armenian Folk Music, persecuted in 1915, survived the genocide physically, but was driven into emotional trauma by it.
Thanks to him, thousands of our Folk songs #Survived the #ArmenianGenocide.

#ICYMI: It's black on white. Based on the ill-advised recommendation of Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Marta Morgan, then Foreign Minister François-Philippe Champagne granted arms exemptions to #Turkey for their supposed use in #Syria. The same reason it had placed a ban on Ankara in the first place. This is as puzzling as much as it's disturbing.
In order to really create and maintain "a robust export control regime" - as is often claimed by government officials - #Canada must not naively give-in to the deceitful lies of backwards dictatorships like Turkey. Suspensions must be unconditionally upheld and a full ban must be enforced on both #Turkey and #Azerbaijan.
