‪Who says Firefighters are the only ones who rescue kittens? 🚒‬ (Yes.... we didn’t need a ladder on this call....)

‪While being dispatched to an unrelated call at TJ Maxx, the manager informed Officers Adkins and Hilliard about two kittens stuck underneath the back of a car in the parking lot. 🚔 🐱

‪Both kittens rescued and will be going to a great home!‬

One of the big advantages of assigning our patrol officers to specific areas of the city -- or beats -- is that they're able to identify when something looks suspicious or out of place.

Check out today's edition of "APD Body Cam of the Week" to see how that recently helped Officer Moon, who works on the east side of town, recover a stolen vehicle.

And remember -- if you ever see something that looks off in your neighborhood, you can always give us a call and have our officers check it out.

It's that time y'all!! Another adorable edition of #FureverFriday, hot off the presses!!

This is Officer Adolfo Ramirez, who works patrol on the west side of town. And he'd like you to meet his buddy Slappy, a 1-year-old Terrier / Pit Bull mix.

Slappy is a pretty chill guy. He's house trained, knows how to sit, and is EXTREMELY treat motivated!!

If you'd like to give Slappy a "furever" home, you can visit him at City of Arlington, TX - Animal Services, which is located at 1000 SE Green Oaks Blvd.

Be sure to give shelter staff his ID number when you arrive: 463681163

Back in 1964 ground was broken for a new Arlington police station at 717 W. Main St. It housed the front desk, dispatch, jail and even had a pistol range in the basement. This was the Arlington PD headquarters until 1989 when construction on the current HQ at the Ott Cribbs Public Safety Center was begun. The photos below include the original architect rendering of what what the building would look like. We think they got it pretty close. Today it houses the Arlington Parks and Recreation offices.
