Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect updated their status.
BREAKING NEWS:
SEAN SPICER DENIES HITLER GASSED JEWS DURING THE HOLOCAUST. MR. PRESIDENT, FIRE SEAN SPICER NOW.
In his afternoon press briefing, Sean Spicer invoked Adolf Hitler in describing Syrian President Assad. Spicer said "Even Hitler didn't sink to using chemical weapons." Reaction of Steven Goldstein, Executive Director of the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect: "On Passover no less, Sean Spicer has engaged in Holocaust denial, the most offensive form of fake news imaginable, by denying Hitler gassed millions of Jews to death. Spicer's statement is the most evil slur upon a group of people we have ever heard from a White House press secretary. Sean Spicer now lacks the integrity to serve as White House press secretary, and President Trump must fire him at once." #Antisemitism #NeverAgain

Hear the firsthand account of isolation experienced during the Holocaust from survivor and Anne Frank Center board member Evi Blaikie. Ms. Blaikie was born in Paris, smuggled to Hungary at the outbreak of World War II, went into hiding in Hungary with her mother for a year, was liberated, and then returned to France where she was placed in an orphanage. Learn how Ms. Blaikie overcame all the challenges in her life and continues to advocate for tolerance so that an atrocity like the Holocaust never occurs again.

This International Holocaust Remembrance Day, hear from those who survived it.
Pieter Kohnstam was born in Amsterdam and lived with his family in the same apartment building as Anne Frank. In fact, the two families were friendly, and Anne would often entertain Peiter while their parents played bridge. While the Franks famously went into hiding after the first round-up of Jews by the Nazis, the Kohnstams chose to embark on a dangerous journey that eventually led to Argentina.
The Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans: Goldring Family Foundation Center for Jewish-Multicultural Affairs (CJMA) and Loyola University New Orleans College of Arts and Sciences invite all to a presentation by Holocaust survivor and Anne Frank Center Board member Pieter Kohnstam. Pieter will share his compelling story of fleeing Amsterdam for Buenos Aires. The talk will be in Spanish, with simultaneous translation into English, and will take place over Zoom.
