Meet our winemaker, Rico Chelini...
Rico grew up on a ranch where his father was the winemaker for over 40 years and had a childhood filled with following his father around the vineyards and watching the winemaking process as part of his daily life. Rico then took to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, earning degrees in Wine and Viticulture and in Agriculture Business, interning at Linne Calodo Cellars, where he eventually became Cellar Master.
After three years at Linne Calodo, Rico returned to the Napa Valley, meeting up with legendary winemaker, Bob Pepi. Bob and Rico turned out to be the perfect winemaking team. Between 2008 and 2016, Rico and Bob made wine together for Andretti and upon Bob's retirement in 2016, Rico took on the tradition of fine winemaking at the winery. We are very proud to have this talented winemaker as part of the Andretti team!
