Going to do some of socially distanced canvassing today. This is the bit I enjoy the most about campaigning, actually meeting people and talking to them.
That said I would just like to apologise in advance if I knock on your door and:
You’re having your tea.
Trying to sort your kids out.
Your dog goes bonkers.
You’ve just got out of the shower.
Watching the TV and its something you’ve been waiting for for absolutely ages.
You’re on the phone.
You’ve only just been able to sit down.
Sorry, but can't wait to see you!
Liberal Democrat Group leader Anne-Marie Barker has posted
“Lib Dem position is unchanged. We will take control when we are the largest party. We are not in the business of accepting poisoned chalices from the Tories.
We really appreciate the support local people have given us but we ask for patience just a little longer.
We will work with other parties for a full financial review of the Council, including its companies and what has been signed up to in the HIF bid to fund the Victoria Arch improvements.”
And so it begins after just one day of council induction this is the local headline which should read
“local Tories as largest council group have no appetite for power”
Instead it’s an attack & Tories objecting that they are the largest group. 🙄
Woking Liberal Democrats are on the record as saying we’ll take control when we are the largest group in the council.
Lovely to see my fellow new councillor Adam Kirby on the front page talking about his win for the Lib Dem’s on Friday in Horsell.
