Hong Kong Government election officers have banned pro-democrat Lau Siu-Lai from running in the November by-elections for the seat she previously held, due to her political stance - a clear violation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). The government's continuous erosion of Hong Kong people's political rights further threatens the future of its "One Country, Two Systems” relationship with China. We must speak out against the authorities’ egregious abuse of our rights and freedoms.
We can stand up for Hong Kong in the UK to expose the dirty tactics of the government and support democracy in Hong Kong! Please join us on 14th October 2018 (Sun), 5pm at Parliament Square Garden. Tell people what's happening in Hong Kong!

// Hong Kong people rushed to save copies of RTHK programmes on Monday as the station began removing shows from the internet, with a journalism academic warning that the broadcaster's move will allow the authorities to create their own version of history. //
// The government has also used the law to reshape Hong Kong’s civil service, to reform the education sector, and to restrict press freedom.
A closer look at the arrests under the NSL or conducted by the newly-created National Security Department (NSD) of the Hong Kong Police paints a clearer picture of how authorities in Hong Kong have implemented the new law, and what they might hope to achieve. The case data, assembled by the Georgetown Center for Asian Law, draws on an extensive review of media reports and interviews with experts who have been closely following the implementation of the law. //
