USPCN stands in unconditional solidarity with our Asian American siblings in the midst of the tragic Atlanta shootings on Tuesday, where 6 Asian American women were murdered by a white supremacist. Anti-Asian violence has increased exponentially since the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic & the growing US military encirclement of China.
We recognize Anti-Asian racism is an outgrowth of U.S. imperialism: from the genocidal U.S. war on Vietnam, the US military occupation and division of Korea, to arming the fascist Duterte regime in the Philippines to the teeth with weapons to extinguish any revolutionary or democratic movements for change. Similarly to our Arab American community, Asian Americans have been routinely dehumanized in corporate media to justify U.S. military aggression in the Asia Pacific.
We encourage our community members and friends to extend their unconditional solidarity & critical support for community organizations on the frontlines against anti-Asian racism such as Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Chicago, Asian Pacific Environmental Network (APEN), Chinese Progressive Association, Anakbayan, HANA Center, Providence Youth Student Movement, Caaav: Organizing Asian Communities

USPCN is sad to announce the passing of Mike Siviwe Elliott, lifelong organizer and fighter for justice. Mike was politicized on the streets of Detroit, living through the Black rebellion of the 60s, where he witnessed the organizing and intense repression against the Black Panther Party.
He went on to become an auto worker and union organizer in the Detroit auto plants, where he was introduced by Arab colleagues to the Palestinian liberation movement.
We will never forget Mike's unwavering commitment to the Rasmea defense campaign, traveling with us from Chicago to Detroit for each and every court date, and working tirelessly in Chicago to build true cross-community solidarity between Black and Arab communities in support of Rasmea.
Mike was a leader in the Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression's camapaign for an all-elected Civilian Police Accountability Council, and a tireless fighter for justice for all oppressed people, with a deep commitment to international solidarity, which he practiced with every waking breath.
We will miss him dearly. Rest in Power, Mike Siviwe Elliott!
