This is terrible...it looks very amateurish and does not seem to be a good representation of our town.

I feel like they had a contest for elementary age kids and voted on what they thought the best depiction was.

Well one plus, or negative depending on how you look at it, to this is that it supposedly wasn’t designed by anyone local. It’s supposedly designed by someone from Norway that just enters these types of contest for the fun of it. He found this one from doing a google search for flag contests.

Disregarding the way it looks and the inappropriate symbolism, someone had to have decided what was important enough to include. I think we need some explanation as to why these were the important things. There’s a lot here to be proud of but ??? this is what is being highlighted ???

A bell that more resembles a weird straw hat, Chicken to symbolize the chicken plants, the trout to symbolize you can fish outside of independence co for trout, the pizza wheels to symbolize our fast food pizzerias, and the lightening bolts to symbolize what the stench from the chicken plants does to your nose as you cross the bridge into batesville. **please note I’m being facetious, sort of** but seriously how much did we pay for this turd?

There should be some Scottish reference to it for the college. Maybe replace the lightning bolts with something to honor our colleges and universities.

The symbols represent the following the large number of chicken farmers in the county which is substantialy larger than that of most counties, the tire represents the motor speedway and the racing history here. The fish represents the several rivers we have in the county and the lightning bolts represent the power plants.

“Gate and key to the ozarks” ... what?

Lightning for the power plant that’s closing soon

Trout for all the trout found in the white river here

Chickens to remind us of the putrid smell every day

And a winged pizza...?

I don’t get it

Her: (Joking) "No. Is there chicken on it?"

You might want to rethink the double lightening bolt.

Honestly, it should have a chicken, a medical plus sign, whatever a lawyer logo looks like, and a syringe.

Well sorry for the negative comment but this thing is ugly. Come on now independence county. We could have done A LOT better.

We also don't have trout in this area of the White River 🤔

The sad part is that there was more than one person on the seal committee that determined this to be a good look for the Independence County Seal.

This is terrible and embarrassing for Arkansas, our country, and the world.

Just remember folks this is going to be on letterhead going out to government and private entities all over the country.

This seal really fits into the whole vibe of 2020 though.

It’s awful, and those lightening bolts need to go.

If this is the winner, I would love the see the others!

Nothing to represent the Colleges. Usually communities are most proud of their Colleges and Universities.

Typical politics. People that did not participate are the first to criticize. I appreciate the effort that was given to this symbol. Thank you. Fly it proud Independence County!!!!

They left out the sewer ponds and the smell.

So many great graphic designers in town and they couldn’t hire one of them???

Bass instead of trout. Not a lot of trout opportunities in Independence Co., but tons of bass opportunities. IMO.🤷🏼‍♂️🎣
