Japanese Style Fried Chicken in a Black Fire and Shichimi Sauce by @foodfit_gill 🇯🇵🔥
Tooting my own horn here but I give this dish a solid 10 for taste. SO simple and ready in 20 mins.
You will need:
• light soy sauce
• hot sauce of choice - I used black fire sriracha
• mirin (optional)
• a tablespoon of cornstarch
• shichimi, cayenne, garlic powder and paprika
• bell pepper and chillies - chopped
• oil - enough to shallow fry
Instructions:
• slice and dice two chicken breasts and move to a bowl.
• add in soy sauce, hot sauce, mirin and all the spices.
• sprinkle over cornstarch and mix further.
Then:
• heat enough oil to shallow fry and add chicken.
• allow to cook for 8-10 mins until golden brown.
• add in chopped bell pepper and chillies.
• add in some more hot sauce and shichimi. Let simmer for a couple more minutes.
Served up with whole grain basmati 🤟🏼
