Tonight’s run was dedicated to 3 Angels.
I’m sure you will have all seen the very sad news today about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry having a miscarriage in July, which was then followed by Christina Perri announcing that her daughter had been still born today.
It stands as a reminder to us all that no matter of you’re royalty, an internationally known singer or a lad from south west London, baby loss affects us all.
The news of both losses today has really hit our Sands United FC Brighton & Hove family very hard, but we are grateful that both families were brave enough to #breakthesilence.
In addition to these two beautiful angels, the wider football family have come together today to remember Kiyan Prince, an academy player at QPR FC who was tragically stabbed and killed outside his school when he was 15. Today would have been his 30th birthday, and QPR fans were urged to wear blue and white for Kiyan today.
I donned my Rangers Shirt and my Sands United tracksuit top in order to honour these 3 Angels.
Today isn’t a day to share the fundraising link, sometimes awareness is much more important. So for those of you affected by the losses of Baby Sussex or Baby Perri, Sands, the stillbirth & neonatal death charity are here for you.
If you want to learn more about the legacy Kiyan left behind, check out the work his father Mark Prince is doing with The Kiyan Prince Foundation

Another shorter run today at lunch as the car was in for its MOT and Service and I didn’t know if I could get out this evening.
Still, a slightly faster 7k than yesterday which suggests I’m starting to feel better now after the weekend and ready to put some serious mileage in at the weekend.
Hoping to reach the Scottish border by the end of next week. 🤞🤞
A shorter run for me today (and most Tuesdays and Thursdays going forward). Can’t run in the evening so getting out during my lunch break and doing 7km from the house to Preston park and back.
Felt a bit better than I did last night that’s for sure! Glad to get a few more miles done! Under 500 miles to go now!
After a disappointing end to last month where I didn’t manage to run on any of the last 4 days, the first of the month seemed as good a day as any to reset and start again.
I had my Covid vacvination on Friday evening, and was completely wiped out on Saturday and Sunday with the worst case of Man Flu ever. I basically hit all of the common side effects from the Oxford Jab. It meant there was no chance of me doing any running over the weekend.
It means that this month needs to be a good one for mileage, with 2 and a half months to go on the challenge and the fact I’d like to take it a bit easy in April I need to do at least 200 miles of running, plus some very good walks with Nym to reduce the remaining distance this month.
Tonight’s run was a good start for the month, even if I felt absolutely terrible after it. I’m clearly still struggling a bit post jab, but I’m glad I got out there and got my run done even if it was a slower time than some of my more recent ones.
Please get in touch if you'd like to get involved!
