Mariinsky Orchestra: now in Edinburgh. Dress rehearsal for “Die Frau ohne Schatten” starts in one hour: from 3PM to 5PM and from 6PM to 10PM tonight. The premiere of Jonathan Kent’s production of “Die Frau ohne Schatten” took place in November 2009. The production won a “Golden Mask”, Russia’s most prestigious theatre prize, in the category “Best Opera Production”. Paul Brown also received a “Golden Mask” award for “Best Work by a Designer in Musical Theatre”. Performances at the Edinburgh International Festival are on September 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Valery Gergiev will conduct all three evenings.
